Many of you may remember in September when the VCA posted a notice for a talk that Dr. Susan Buck was giving at William & Mary about microscopy and art conservation. Dr. Buck has kindly agreed to give her talk again to the VCA. Optical microscopy techniques reveal minuscule clues about object’s creation, history, deterioration, and past interventions.
This talk will explore how reflective and transmitted light cross-section microscopy can be used to inform conservation decision making and further our understanding of objects and the past. There will be a business meeting and refreshments prior to the talk. The Stryker Center is across from the Scotland St. Williamsburg Public Library. They share a parking lot.
