May Member Meeting - Save the Date

Join us for an exciting May Member Meeting with a presentation from Richmond based stained glass conservator, Scott Taylor! We can look forward to learning about the recent treatment and installation of three Tiffany panels from All Saints Episcopal at the VMFA, followed by a visit to the gallery to see them in place. Additional projects over the years have included Tiffany windows at Hollywood Cemetery's Ginter Mausoleum, All Saints Episcopal, and Maymont and other stunning works at St. John’s Church, Churchill, and the Confederate Chapel behind the VMFA. As a special bonus for this meeting, members will be able to view the latest lower level special exhibition, Frida Kahlo: Beyond the Myth. Please be sure to select your prefered time slot when completing your RSVP.

Special Exhibition - Frida Kahlo: Beyond the Myth

As a special bonus for this May member meeting, we will receive complimentary tickets to the newest lower level exhibit at the VMFA focused on the life and work of Frida Kahlo.

Tickets are by timed entry, so please select your prefered time, either before or after the meeting (4:30pm or 7:30pm).

The exhibition showcases many of the artist’s most important paintings and drawings from the beginning of her career in 1926 until her death in 1954. More than 60 works of art in a variety of media, many rarely seen outside of Mexico, include self-portraits, still lifes, and compositions from her imagination. Also on view are photographs of Kahlo taken by many of those closest to her, including internationally renowned photographers Lola Álvarez Bravo, Imogen Cunningham, Julien Levy, Dora Maar, and Nickolas Muray.
